Significant cool-down could put record low temperatures in jeopardy.
Iff you live in Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic, get ready for a significant cool down. Temperatures could get between 20 and 25 degrees below average across a good part of the Northeast and Northern Mid Atlantic. A heavy jacket will for sure be needed Saturday morning. A widespread frost/freeze is also very likely. This means that the growing season will come to an end. Make sure you bring sensitive vegetation inside.

Friday morning will be the start of a very cold weekend. Morning lows in the big cities of the I-95 could be in the low to mid 30s. Areas north and west can expect more cold temperatures

Saturday is when we have the core of the cold, over the Northeast! The I-95 corridor can expect temperatures in the 20s. Immediate coastal areas will have slightly warmer temps. Eastern Long Island should be above freezing! Areas North and West of the urban corridor will have temps in the teens and possibly upper single digits!

On Sunday, temperatures should be a little bit warmer but not by much. The Immediate coastal communities should stay close to or above freezing. The Urban corridor should be hovering around freezing mark. As usual, the areas away from the urban corridor should be in the 20s.

Make sure you are prepared for the cold weather, and do not stay outside for too long. For the latest on the cold follow me @CristCacewx on twitter.
