First Winter Storm for Upper Midwest of the Season! Details on timing and amounts.

Hello everyone! Today I am going to update you on the winter storm that is about to make its presence felt in parts of the Upper Midwest.

Here is the future radar from the NAM of who will be affected by the most snow.

Again this looks like a storm that looks more likely to make an impact in Minnesota and snow will not be the only thing to worry about. There will also be some pretty high winds as well so there might be blizzard like conditions for some. Here is the wind speeds when the snow really starts flying.

So what do the models think about the snowfall amounts?

I do think the most snow will fall in Northern Minnesota and some light acculations are possible as far as central Iowa.

Wind Chills

Another big factor in this big weather system is going to be the wind chills in the Central Plains. Here is the wind chill forecast through Sunday. It is going to feel cold!

Yes, our first hard freeze has arrive and the growing season if not yet over will be by Monday. Our first average freeze in Kansas is October 28th. So we are right on schedule!
